One of my personal goals for the year was to do a charity walk/fundraiser. I originally wanted to do the Susan G Komen walk, but after the stint they pulled with Planned Parenthood, I decided to donate to PP instead. (Please respect my asking to keep politics/discussion about the Komen/PP thing off of my journal.)

I was talking to Angie, and she mentioned the South Sound AIDS walk. Which is September 22nd. And since there's no fee to start walking, I decided to do it.

Uhm, I hate asking, and I completely understand if you feel uncomfortable with it, but if you'd like to donate to my walking, my page is here:

MY PAGE Donations are secure, and I'd love it if you could help out. :)

I'll keep this post public in case anyone wants to signal boost. :)

If you can donate, please donate on Kyle's behalf. He's a great kid, my second brother. He's participating on his mom's behalf, and I'd really love to see him achieve his goal. He's a warm, funny, amazingly brilliant kid who's still in AIT for his military career and is deciding to run.

Link should take you to Kyle's Relay for Life page.

I just removed a ton of people from my friends list. No hard feelings, I just wasn't connecting with you, or hadn't heard from you in a while. So if you can't see any of my recent entries, just the public ones, I've removed you.

Best of luck.

This is just a list for me to track what I actually use in a year. I did this last year, but didn't keep up with it. But I'm actually keeping up with this as I do it.

If you haven't already contacted your senator and representative in the house of Representatives, in regard to opposing SOPA and IPPA please do so.

You all know I rarely get political on my journal, but this is serious. Do it.

Senators (Those of you in Washington, I couldn't get Patty Murray's to work, but try anyway)

Representatives

I know LJ's been fucking everyone over recently, but they've got a good post here: http://theljstaff.livejournal.com/4004.html with more links.

Going dark today, getting on that bandwagon. I'll see everyone tomorrow.

I was poking around weheartit which is worse for me than Tumblr. *shrugs.* And I've come to the conclusion that I know what my third tattoo is going to be. It's going to be band related, and I'm getting into on my 28th birthday. (oh god, next year.) Not sure where I'm putting it quite yet, and it's not a unique tattoo, Hundreds of people probably have it. Hell, I think all of the band members do. A simple, black text foREVer. It's something that I've thought about for nearly two years now, and even before The Rev died, I had been considering an Avenged tattoo. I've listened to this band since 2005. That's a long fucking time for me to like something. Six years I've supported this band. I've seen them five times. The next time they come through I'm going again. I just love this band. The last time I saw this band, Uproar a couple of months ago, I think I did damage to my vocal cords. The day after my throat was so swollen it was triggering my gag and swallow reflex at the same time. Which made life interesting.

But I wouldn't change a thing.

Avenged is a band I'll buy the album without listening to it first. There's only two other bands I'll do that for. Atreyu and Everytime I Die. Avenged is different though. Each album is different and unique. I started listening to them about the time "City of Evil" was playing, and I actually hated that album. A coworker at the time slipped me a copy of "Waking the Fallen" and I was in love. City of Evil still isn't my favorite album, but I do like it a lot. There are some really good eight minute songs on there. ;) I think, if I was forced to chose, my favorite album would be the self titled. A very very close second is Nightmare. The thing is, there's a song on each album that I always end up skipping because it becomes tied to some emotional trigger for me. Well...not on Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. I skip one song on there, because it's it's hysterically bad.

I'm not even sure why I'm rambling on and on about this. I just...wanted to?
